  • Wilsons Cold Pressed Dog Food

Wilsons can trace its history back to the crimean war and is known mainly for its working dog food. Wilsons have recently introduced a cold pressed dog food which is a dry dog food which is pressed at a lower temperature compared to kibbled dry dog food.  Kibble undergoes a high temperature extrusion process, where in excess of 40% of the nutritional value can be lost.  Cold pressing minimises the impact of temperature and produces a healthier food with greater digestibility and retains the natural nutritional value.

Wilsons have worked with top nutritionists specialising in Cold Press products who have, based on scientific studies, created a complete dog food with all 6 of the major nutrient groups, carbohydrate, protein, fat, vitamins, minerals and water, essential to provide energy and ensure the physiological wellbeing of your dog.

The food is available in three flavours Mountain Stream (salmon and sweet potato), Secret Pasture (British lamb and brown rice) and Sunrise Song (chicken and vegetables) containing between 23 -26% protein depending on flavour.

All but the lamb variety are grain free and incorporate superfoods such as seaweed, ginger, turmeric, thyme, cranberry, dandelion root and merry gold yellow which provide additional vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.

Most of the ingredients are sourced in the UK.

It supports better health with improved intestinal health and digestion - reducing the risk of bloat, shiny coat, better immune system, extra energy, better breath and reduced flatulence.

It can be fed on its own or mixed with a wet dog food and suitable for dogs from 2 months old.

Its great value as it's nutritionally dense and you will need to feed less than normal.

We tried all three flavours and it definitely gets the thumbs up from us.

It also has a real time barking alert so you can immediately check in on them and make sure nothing is wrong.

It has a super clear 1080p Full HD, 4 x zoom, 160 degree wide angle and night vision.  It holds over 100 pieces of treats which you can dispense any time.  It's a two way pet camera to hear and speak to your dog.

So, what did we think?  We absolutely loved it!  We soon realised that after the little noise came some treats and after we'd eaten those we went back to see if any more were going to fall out.  The parents loved it too.  It was so easy to set up and use and they can keep a check on us to make sure we're behaving and reward us with treats.

  • Different Dog Food and Treats

The team at Different Dog very kindly asked if we'd like to try their food.  We're very happy with our current dry food and didn't want to change but as we sometimes get a tasty topper to go with it, we agreed to try it in addition to our regular food and boy are  we glad we did!

Different Dog hand cook their food using the freshest, seasonal ingredients from local suppliers.  A vet and nutritionist are part of the team so the food is nutritionally balanced.

We think it's a great idea that they seek to reduce waste by sourcing human grade produce that isn't pretty enough for supermarket shelves.  Each week there are new recipes to try.

All the recipes contain at least 60% fresh chicken, lamb, beef or turkey.  Seasonal fruit and veg, herbs, quality oils, superfoods and vitamins and minerals.

The food is frozen straight after cooking to preserve taste and nutrition without using chemicals.  It is delivered in a personalised insulated box and the food stays frozen until midnight on the day it arrives, so no problem if you're not at home when it's delivered.

Inside the box are a menu of the weeks meals and individual pots of food.  All the packaging and pots are recyclable or compostable.  Also included in ours was a packet of tasty treats, 100% air dried chicken.

You just need to pop the pots into the freezer and take out and place in the fridge 24 hours before needed.  If you forget, you can just place the pot in a bowl of warm water for 5 minutes before serving.  Once defrosted the food remains fresh for 5 days.

Portion sizes / calorie content are determined by your dogs, weight, age and activity level.

The recipes we received, were braised beef, chicken casserole, easter lamb, turkey and parsley, chicken hotpot and beef stroganoff.  Mum was very impressed that you could actually see all the ingredients .  We tried the chicken casserole first, which has chicken, liver, red cabbage , sweet potato, carrot, apple, mushroom and parsley and as you can see below, it looks good enough for the humans to eat!  All of the other recipes looked just as good and equally as tasty.

Different Dog food and treats gets a big thumbs up from us!  It's tasty, good quality and healthy and delivered straight to you door. If you would like to find out more about it take a look at www.differentdog.com

  • The Innocent Hound Treats

Who doesn't love treats! We never turn down a treat, but if you want us to do something in return, it has to be a high value treat.

The innocent hound treats had us performing our repertoire of tricks before the packet was even open!

We were lucky enough to try three flavours, venison sausages with chopped apple, salmon bites with sweet potato and sliced duck sausage with cranberry.

They arrived beautifully packaged, all wrapped up in pale blue tissue paper, we could see these were going to be luxury treats.

The Innocent Pet is a family owned business and the treats are made in a human-grade factory in Yorkshire. Their aim is to produce luxury treats that are nutritious, healthy, and made with good quality, carefully sourced British ingredients. The products are grain free and hypoallergenic, and many are single protein making them ideal for pets who struggle with intolerances.

They are handmade and then gently air dried to retain flavour and nutrients.

The treats come in easy to open resealable packets. Perfect size for slipping in your pocket when out on a walk. We especially liked the sliced duck sausage as they were bite sized pieces and ideal for training, but all three flavours were equally delicious.

We loved the fact that they are made from all natural ingredients with no hidden additives and are healthy as well as tasty.

We couldn't get enough of them and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. If you'd like to give them a try, you can order them from https://theinnocentpet.co.uk and there's free delivery on all orders over £5.

There's also a functional range which contain active natural ingredients to support dental, joint and skin and coat health.

We absolutely loved them and we bet you will too!

  • Guru Pet Food

Hi Harley here! If you didn't already know, I love my food! I wasn't always like that; I tried numerous dry foods, wet foods and even a raw diet for a while but after a few days I would turn my nose up at what was on offer. I was also putting on some weight as not eating the food made me hungry and I turned to treats and as a senior I was staring to have some joint problems and my coat was dull.

After starting my instagram account, I made some lovely friends who were on this new food called Guru. They persuaded me to try it, so we sent off for a sample pack. It went down really well, so to cut a long story short, the parents decided to make the switch and I've never refused a meal in nearly two years I've been on it.

When we got Raffles, we decided we'd raise him on Guru as it's suitable for puppies from 4 weeks of age. It can be mixed with warm water to form a porridge like consistency, so it's ideal for the little ones and they can gradually transition to eating it dry by reducing the amount of water mixed in.

Raffles thrived on Guru. He had so much energy, his coat was lovely and shiny and he was growing into a handsome little pup. As Guru is a cold pressed food, the ingredients are ground, then gently mixed together before they are cold pressed at very low temperatures which means that all the yummy ingredients, like beef, brown rice, sea fish, mixed vegetables and fruits retain all of their flavour, vitamins and nutrients. There's also a grain free version too!

It also contains oils, herbs and prebiotics; everything for a healthy immune system and a lovely coat and has the added benefit of making the stools easier to pick up - which human is going to say no to that!

A year on, Raffles has just had a health check and the vet confirmed what we already knew, that he's a happy, healthy pup, the correct weight for his age, his skin, eyes, teeth and coat are all perfect, shame it couldn't do anything for his manners!

As for me, I'm nearly 10 years old now and thanks to Guru, my joint problems have disappeared and I've lost 3kg, I'm fit and healthy for my age and can run around and play with my little brother. Guru has done us both the world of good.

Are we glad we're Guru Geeksters? We sure are! This old man and little pupster are proof of the benefits.

  • Gorpets

Gorpets supply quality, safe, ethical and beneficial pet accessories in the UK. We love our Gorpets Eden slumber bed. It's a beautiful art deco print, upholstery grade material, which makes it very durable and soft. The cover can be totally removed for washing due to the cleverly designed inserts that can be removed via zippers in the cushion and and the outer body of the dog bed. The bed comes in six sizes from extra small to extra extra large and two colours, grey or purple. Ours is an extra large and there's room for us both to snuggle up in it. We think the quality is fantastic! The cushioned sides are very firm and supportive and haven't sagged at all. We constantly jump in and out the bed with muddy wet feet and the bed still looks like new with no marks. We have a number of dog beds, but this is by far our favourite! It's very stylish, with excellent design features and a very affordable price. We love it so much, we're looking at getting a second one for another room.

  • Whiskers and Stitched

    Handmade pet products and gifts

We were lucky enough to win a competition on Instagram and one of the prizes was a bandana from Whiskers and Stitched. We were able to choose from the extensive range of beautiful bandanas in lovely colours and patterns. The traditional style knot bandanas are handmade to order in a range of sizes in a cotton fabric. Ours have been swimming in canals and muddy puddles with us and they wash really well and look like new. We've since ordered more as gifts for friends and had a custom made birthday bandana. The quality is excellent and they always look stunning.
